This painting was a commission from a friend! When i saw the photograph i couldn't wait to do it, because i knew it would have special significance for my friend! It was special because they were best friends and his friend the one without the hat, passed away a couple of years ago from cancer! This picture was taken when they were young, and the title was "fishing buddies". His wife gave it to him last night and he called me and told me it was the best gift he had ever recieved! A painting......not a lexus with a bow, Paintings can be great gifts that will outlast the recipient....who knows, maybe the mona lisa was a christmas gift! I love to give my artwork to family on the holidays, because i am giving them a peice of my heart! God Bless you and have a hopeful new year!
What a beautiful gift and story. It makes me sad to know that the little guy on the left has passed away, making this such a poignant gift. I'm so glad fishing buddy on the right loved his gift (and what a thoughtful wife!). I wish I had more talent at hand to be able to do this for family members. Truly such a thoughtful gift idea!
